DWH Migration into cloud based on Metadata
Today’s data-intensive world confronts modern businesses with both challenges and opportunities. Data infrastructure must adapt to this new reality of larger data volumes, higher speeds, and the veracity of data. A robust, agile, and scalable data architecture will be a critical factor for business success in the years to come.
DWH designed to solve the problems of two decades ago are not necessarily suited to solve the problems of today. Relying on legacy systems, while an easy short-term solution, is certainly not the right long-term choice.
A major reason why organizations are hesitant to migrate their DWH into a cloud, is the belief that such a migration will be time-consuming, tedious, and costly. You will see in this presentation, that this is not the case.
A cloud is a centralized and globally available platform, which makes it an ideal target for data consolidation as well as popular use cases such as analytics, self-service data practices and data sharing across enterprise boundaries.

“Go with the Flow”: Stream-based – Real-Time ETL without Batch Processes
Are you interested in Real-Time ETL without batch processes? How to build complex domain-oriented transformations in the stream? How to ensure data consistency? Where to put the data history? How do you do it in a resource-efficient way?
Peter Welker will answer all these questions on 22.06.2021, from 11:10 – 12:20 (conference program).
In this presentation, you will be shown which processes and tools are suitable based on concrete projects. Their advantages and disadvantages will also be highlighted compared to classic batch processes.
Get an idea of how the implementation of a purely event-driven data warehouse can be achieved and look like!

30 minutes to the Analytics Platform with Infrastructures as Code
Analytical platforms for PoCs and evaluation can be built in the cloud in an hour – with ready-made setup scripts. However, if you put together your own services, it gets more difficult. The open source platform-in-a-box “Platys” (https://github.com/TrivadisPF/platys) shows that it is easier for test and PoC environments. In addition to possible uses and examples, we explain services and “just briefly” pull up a data lake with DB, event hub, stream processing, blob store, SQL access and data science notebook.
